Welcome to Year Four
Here is where you will find out what’s going on in class and routines.
Routines
Reading Books will be changed and sent home on a Monday. Please ensure your child has their reading book in school every day as we will listen to readers daily. Reading books may be changed more than once a week if needed.
PE Days: This term, PE will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Pupils must come to school wearing school PE kit. Please remember that PE kit during these guidelines is as follows:
- Black/navy Blue shorts
- White t-shirt
- Plain black or navy Blue tracksuit
- Black/navy Blue jogging bottoms/leggings
- Plain navy Blue/black sweatshirt/jacket
- PE Kits should have no logos on.
- Earrings must be removed and long hair tied back
Homework
In Year 4 children are expected to:
- Read at least three times a week to a grown up, please record this in your child’s reading record.
- Practise their weekly spellings and times tables. Spelling tests are every Monday and times table tests will be posted on Dojo.
- Complete their Maths homework on Sum Dog and LBQ.
- Remember pupils have access to Times Table Rockstars, Reading Plus and Spelling Shed to support them in their learning. These must be accessed as often as possible at home. Little and often is key.
